  1. How do you describe the feeling of Imposter Syndrome? When does it affect you the most? Why?

I actually did not know anything about Imposter Syndrome in the past until now. After watching the videos and reading the text book, I also did some additional research over the internet for more information on Imposter Syndrome, then I realize that whatever I have been doing in my life is to prove to myself that “I am here, and I am real!”. I can go on and on for pages trying to explain to you how I do that, but probably not this time. The bottom line is: life is supposed to be simple and I’d rather keep it that way! I know there is a huge reality out there and each and everyone of us must deal with on a daily basis, but many of us also have forgotten that our life is supposed to be simple, and when it’s not, when it’s starting to get complicated, then it’s up to us to find our ways to simplify it. I know I didn’t have anything to start with when I was born, not even my clothes, so I like to keep my life as much simple as I can. I understand work is very essential in our life, it plays a major part of our life, but I don’t forget that work should not take over and have a full control of who I truly am.

2. What have you learned about the tech world that you are happy to know?

I really like CSS! I am so happy to know it. I normally like to design or decorate many things that I came across, just simply to make it look, of course in my opinion, a little more nice and decent. In order to do that with other objects out there, it’s cost money. I can do that with CSS, making web pages look decent and presentable, and it costs nothing. I love that!

3. Why is the way we talk to ourselves in our inner mind so important? What effect can it have on our well-being?

I do that all the time. Whenever I talk to myself in my inner mind, that’s when I review of what I just did or whatever I am doing. That’s how I control my activities and behavior and try to improve it in the future. The more I do that, the better quality that I have in life.

4. What about this course is challenging you the most? How do you think you are growing through it?

This course is a boot camp training with such extensive technology information. My challenge is trying to catch up with its speed and still able to comprehend these information with some depths. Just like everything else in life, I’ll do the best I can to to gain my knowledge, one at a time. Discipline, maintain well-balance and good attitude will help me going through this.

5. How has podcast listening influenced the way you think?

I am listening to both Shop Talk and CodeNewbie. It’s very helpful and interesting. Besides learning things that I did not know in the past, it also makes me feel like a part of this community, a part of the family.

6. What has your spare time looked like in-comparison to what it looked like a year ago?

Very busy! I have a three year old daughter, so I almost no longer have “spare time” anymore, but it’s a good thing. I am at my best when I have a full, busy schedule everyday. It helps my motivation and makes me feel so “alive”.
